Cosmetic Sales Jump Nearly 9% in The Netherlands

THE NETHERLANDS: Nederlandse Cosmetica Vereniging (NCV), the cosmetic trade association of The Netherlands, reported an 8.8% increase in its cosmetics sales for 2001, to $1.9 billion (retail). Bath and shower products grew 8.2% to $93.2 million. Decorative cosmetics increased 12.9% to $116.9 million; deodorants grew 8.9%; fragrances increased 8.5% and skin care rose 9.5%.
